Recently I picked up not one, not two, but four extra length cables for my computer. I was in a bit of a pinch: I had to figure out a way to connect my dual monitors to my computer while using an adjustable-height desktop, because my meter-and-chip cables weren’t close to cutting it. If I put my desk too high, I’d risk ripping my graphics cards and motherboards right off the damn computer.

Finally, I caved and ordered two extra long Amazon Basics DisplayPort cables and two extra long USB Type-B to Type-A cables. They didn’t cost me much, however, if I had waited a little longer I could have saved a little more. Most of Amazon’s Basic cables are on sale right now for Prime Early Access.
If you thought you could make your own life a little easier with a longer cable or want to change your entire computer, now is the time to do it. From DisplayPort and HDMI cables, to optical connectors, you can save a buck or two with every purchase now. That adds up if you bulk buy a few like me. Although similarly the last things I want to spend a lot of money on are cables—they’re just kind of boring, you know?
Most of the above cables are now sitting at or near their lowest price to date, based on the price history that we know of. There might be a few cents in it in favor of the previous prices—2016 was a good year for cheap cables, for some reason.
However, if you work with tired cables or cable runs only that only reach (personal note: I hate when a cable is stretched like this), it might be a good time to look at a longer, newer option. Just remember that these deals are exclusive to Prime members and expire at midnight tonight.
