The modified Ford Ranger is the UK’s most advanced unmanned support vehicle | Biden News

A specially modified Ford Ranger is now available in the UK as the ultimate vehicle for drone safety. Among other things, the rugged 4×4 is equipped with a special ready-to-fly mechanism and a built-in DJI drone detection unit.

The specialist drone support vehicle has been designed, developed and manufactured by UK drone supplier Heliguy and ambulance manufacturer Venari. It was recently launched at the UK Emergency Services Show in Birmingham.

The main feature of this drone support machine is that it is equipped with all the latest technologies that facilitate the rational and efficient deployment of drones.

For example, the Ford Ranger’s ready-to-fly drone engine allows airborne drones such as the DJI M30 and M300 RTK series to remain fully assembled and ready for immediate deployment.

Other tech features include a built-in DJI AeroScope RF drone detection unit, a real-time weather station, a temperature-controlled battery charging area, air suspension, a command and control station, and a 43-inch QLED screen with a built-in control unit. interface

In addition, the modular car supports 4G/5G and can be supplemented with an additional communication system such as Satcom. It also comes with a built-in generator.

Meanwhile, the interior and exterior lighting has been configured with a “dark mode” function for night operations, which prevents the night sight setting from being lost.

Ben Shirley, Counter UAS Training and Development Manager at heliguy, explains:

The specially modified Ford Ranger is specially configured for the most efficient and safe method of drone deployment and is equipped with systems to assist remote pilots in a variety of UAV operations. Every detail has been considered for the unique and varied situations in which drones are deployed, including human factors, risk management and flight procedures.
