Now a new report from JATO Dynamics, based on new car registrations, shows that Tesla Model Y became the best-selling car in Europe for the first time.

The Tesla model sold almost 30,000 units

London-based JATO Dynamics said on Wednesday: “This is the first time a Tesla SUV has taken first place in Europe. 29,367 Model Y vehicles were registered last month, up 227 percent from last year.”

The data also shows that the second largest model in European registrations is the Peugeot 208. In third place is Renault’s Dacia Sandero. Both the Peugeot 208 and Dacia Sandero are much cheaper than the Model Y. Tesla confirmed that the Berlin Gigafactory reached production levels as of the end of September 2000 Model Y cars per week.

In August of this year, the company released a cheap rear-wheel drive version of the Model Y in Europe. The car has a WLTP range of 455 kilometers. For reference, the Y model released in Europe has a range of 533 kilometers. As for power, the rear-wheel-drive Y model has a top speed of 217 km/h. It also has a 0-100 km/h acceleration time of 6.9 seconds. The official website shows that the car is expected to be delivered between December 2022 and February 2023.

In terms of price, The rear-wheel drive version of the Tesla Model Y costs from 50,000 euros in the Netherlands. This is 16,000 euros cheaper than the distant option. If you factor in the exchange rate and VAT, if this car is sold in the US, it will be $20,000 cheaper. In some European markets, the rear-wheel-drive Model Y is even cheaper than the standard Model 3.
