Conor Benn left the license
Conor Benn has released a statement after relinquishing his BBBofC British boxing license. The welterweight, who has won all 21 of his fights under the auspices of the British Boxing Authority, took the decision ahead of a hearing on October 21, confirming the “charge of misconduct”.
Benn was supposed to fight Chris Eubank Jr on October 8th at the O2 Stadium in London, weighing in at 157lbs, before a “result of the discovery of the dosage of the fertility drug”, which turned out to be Clomiphene, appeared in . one of ‘The Destroyer’s’ tests of the Voluntary Anti-Doping Association (VADA).
The governing body of the sport banned the fight between the couple that took place under their jurisdiction, just three days before the incident, stating that it was “not in the interest of boxing”.

“According to its rules and regulations, the commission determined the allegations after hearing the case legally represented by Mr. Benn,” the commission’s statement on Wednesday said. .”
Later, Benn criticized the “unfair and arbitrary” process by the Commission, saying that the misconduct charge had nothing to do with the results of the drug test.
“Conor’s focus at this time is simply to clear his name,” said a statement released on the fighter’s social media. [B]oard, however, made it very difficult for Conor to focus on doing so by running an unfair and arbitrary system.“In such circumstances, Conor decided not to renew his (expired) license. Conor told the Commission that if it did not agree that his license had expired, then he would abandon it.“He strongly disagrees with the allegations of misconduct (which for the avoidance of doubt *does* apply to VADA) and believes that an independent tribunal would reach a different conclusion.“At the appropriate time, Conor will address this and the alleged doping, as much as he can as the trial continues. In the meantime, he reiterated, without further ado no doubt, that he is a clean player.”
We have not yet been informed of any progress regarding the future of the 26-year-old player, who is the son of former world champion Nigel Benn.
