Manny Pacquiao On Mayweather Rematch: “He’s Scared”

By Allan Fox: Manny Pacquiao says a rematch with Floyd Mayweather Jr will not happen because he is “scared to death” of fighting him again.

Pacquiao said yesterday during a press conference for his exhibition match against DK Yoo that Mayweather was “scared” to face him. Although Mayweather is only two years older than Pacquiao, he is not as big as the Filipino star.

Mayweather has lost the hand speed that made him famous and looks glacially slow, and will be vulnerable against Pacquiao. At this point, it won’t be a good fight because Pacquiao is fast enough that Mayweather can knock him out, even with big gloves being used.

Indeed, Mayweather has shown no interest in facing Pacquiao again after defeating him with a 12th round unanimous decision in the ‘Fight of the Century’ in 2015.

Even though Mayweather could make more money fighting Pacquiao than playing video games with inappropriate YouTubers, he’s not interested.

Mayweather, 45, has been focused on special exhibitions since ending his career with a victory over UFC fighter Conor McGregor in 2018.

Surprisingly, this fight was banned as an officially recognized boxing sport in Nevada even though McGregor never fought.

“I don’t think that will happen because he was scared to death to face me in the ring again,” Pacquiao said of Mayweather on Thursday at a press conference for his exhibition match against DK Yoo.

“He was scared. From the beginning he was afraid [by] I am afraid that she will face me.”

Many boxing fans believe that Mayweather waited six years before Pacquiao was old enough to beat him in 2015. Interestingly, Mayweather did not fight Pacquiao until Tim Bradley and Juan Manuel Marquez. they beat him.

You could argue that if Mayweather had fought Pacquiao during the zenith of his career between 2005 and 2009, he would have lost the same way Oscar De La Hoya did.

Mayweather has shown no interest in fighting Pacquiao and current boxers, preferring to take minimum wage fights against YouTubers, MMA fighters, and low-powered fighters instead.

The amazing thing is that he is still making good money fighting show matches. With that said, there seems to be diminishing returns to Mayweather’s exhibition fights because there is no doubt that the fans are not interested in seeing these non-competitive fights.

It’s worrying that Mayweather doesn’t see that the fans have lost interest.
