Masternak is ranked #5 by the IBF while Whateley is #10 in their September rankings.

Former EBU featherweight champion Manuel Masso has died at the age of 67 after a long illness, reports aebox.org.

Masso fought professionally from 1973 to 1986 and compiled a 40-3-1 record. He won the EBU title in 1977 by defeating Nino Jiminez in a shootout, but that year he lost to Roberto Castanon.

Former Italian heavyweight champion Piero Tomasini has died at the age of 86. Tomasini challenged the EBU’s Henry Cooper and Karl Mildenberger (twice) but failed. He beat the likes of Jack Bodell and Juergen Blin though.

He wrestled professionally from 1961 to 1969 and compiled a record of 33-9-5.
