The British Boxing Authority said Conor Benn had renounced his British boxing license and a hearing on October 21 confirmed the “allegation of misconduct”.

But Benn criticized the “unfair and arbitrary” process by the BBoC, and said the allegations of misconduct had nothing to do with his failed drug test before his canceled fight with Chris Eubank Jr.

It was revealed that a few days before the scheduled fishing campaign, which will take place on the 8th of October, a “bad analysis of the amount of fertility drugs” was revealed in one of Benn’s tests by the Anti-Doping Association VADA ).

The BBOC has ‘banned’ the Eubank Jr fight, which will take place at The O2, saying the fight is “not for the benefit of boxing”.

A statement released by the BBC on Wednesday said: “The BBofC has summoned Conor Benn to attend a hearing on misconduct charges in accordance with rule 25.1.1. The hearing took place on October 21, 2022. On the morning of the hearing, Mr. Benn personally surrendered his BBBofC license.

“According to its rules and regulations, the commission assessed the allegations after the hearing that Mr. Benn received according to law.

“The allegations against Mr. Benn have been accepted.”

But Benn released a statement later on Wednesday saying: “The focus for Conor at this point is just clearing his name.

“The board, however, made it very difficult for Conor to focus on doing so by operating an unfair and cruel system. In such circumstances, Conor decided not to renew his license (which he lost). Conor told the Commission that if he did not believe his license had expired, then he had abandoned it.

“He strongly disagrees with the allegations of misconduct (which for the avoidance of doubt *does* apply to VADA) and believes that an independent tribunal would reach a different conclusion.

“In due course Conor will speak about this and the alleged doping, as much as he can as the legal proceedings continue. In the meantime he reiterated, no without any doubt, that he is a clean player.”

Benn Snr defended the “coach”.

In early October, former middleweight world champion Nigel Benn defended his son, Conor, after the fight was postponed and insisted he was a “clean athlete”.

“I’ve been with my son for the past 10 weeks and the training has gone the best it could have,” Benn Sr said in an Instagram video on Friday. “I love my son, I know he doesn’t [sic] no cut, straight to it, 100%. He is a loyal coach and a clean player.”

Benn himself appeared to be lashing out at the media coverage of the UKAD investigation via his Instagram story on October 7, in which he quoted a famous quote by human rights activist Malcolm X.

The saying goes: “The media is the most powerful thing in the world. They have the power to make the innocent guilty and make the guilty innocent, and that’s power. Because they control the minds of the masses.”
