Multiple K-pop groups have been nominated for the 2022 MTV Europe Music Awards, including Blackpink, BTS and Seventeen.

In the nomination list announced on Wednesday, BLACKPINK was named in four categories and both BTS and Seventeen were named in three categories.

The title track from BLACKPINK’s second album “Pink Venom” was nominated in the Best Video category, the first time a K-pop group was nominated in this category. The four-member girl group also received nominations in the Best K-Pop, Biggest Fans and Best Metaverse Performance categories.

BTS was also nominated in the Best K-Pop, Biggest Fan and Best Metaverse Performance categories. The boy band won four awards at last year’s MTV Europe Music Awards. It has won the Biggest Fan Award for four consecutive years since 2018.

This year’s award marks the first time Seventeen has been nominated. The boy band was nominated in three categories – Best K-Pop, Best New Act and Best Push Artist.

K-pop groups Tomorrow x Together, Twice and ITZY were also nominated for the award.

The 2022 MTV Europe Music Awards will take place on November 13 at the Bank Dome in Düsseldorf, Germany.
