Dolly Parton to host 2022 Academy of Country Music Awards alongside Jimmy Allen and Gabby Barrett

Good golly, it’s Dolly Parton!

The country music legend was announced Thursday by Prime Video Canada, the Academy of Country Music and the MRC as the host of the 57th Academy of Country Music Awards. It was then revealed that Parton, 76, would join Jimmy Allen and Gabby Barrett.

Damon Whiteside, CEO of the Academy of Country Music, said, “The Academy has a long history of highlighting today’s rising stars as well as country music’s biggest stars, and will do so even more this year. This year, the March 7, 2022 celebration will stream live without commercial interruption on Prime Video Canada from Allegiant Stadium in Las Vegas in March.

“I am very excited to host the ACM Awards on March 7 from Vegas. Look out for us because we’re going to have some fun,” the “9 to 5” singer said in a press release.

Parton is already having a great year. The superstar is about to release his new album, Run, Rose, runMarch 4, which will accompany his original novel of the same name, written with James Patterson and published March 7. Last week, he was also announced as a nominee for the Rock and Roll Hall of Fame Class of 2022.

The ceremony, which moved to Prime Video Canada, marked the first time an awards show was exclusively livestreamed. The annual show, meanwhile, brings together iconic artists for exciting collaborations, surprising moments and an unprecedented number of world television-premiere performances.

The 57th Academy of Country Music Awards will stream on Prime Video Canada on Monday, March 7 at 8 pm ET/7 pm CT/5 pm PT.
