Good news for the bad rabbit.
The Puerto Rican performer is the most nominated artist for the 2022 American Music Awards, earning eight nominations, including his first for Artist of the Year. The show — which is produced by Dick Clark Productions and ABC — noted in a release Thursday that Bad Bunny would tie Michael Jackson and Whitney Houston for the most awards in a single year if it wins all of its nominated categories.
Beyoncé, Drake and Taylor Swift each received six nominations, while Adele, Harry Styles and The Weeknd took home five apiece.
First-time nominees include Jack Howl, Lato and Blackpink. And elsewhere, Elton John made history by being the “longest recognized artist” in the show’s history. His first nomination was in 1974.
The show also boasts of adding a new category dedicated to K-Pop Genre, Favorite K-Pop Artist.
The American Music Awards airs Sunday, November 20 at 8pm ET on ABC.
