Recent MBA rankings place UA Walton College at No.  36 among public schools

In its latest ranking of graduate programs, US News & World Report lists the Master of Business Administration (MBA) program at the University of Arkansas’ Sam M. Walton College of Business as the 36th best business school among public business colleges in the nation and the 36th best. 64 in the combined public and private lists.

The UA MBA program is the only Arkansas school included in the magazine rankings.

In a news release Wednesday (April 13), UA said the recognition places the Walton MBA in the top 13% of all US MBA programs. US News & World Report also ranks the Walton MBA supply chain path 10th best among public MBA programs and 13th overall.

The award adds to a growing list of rankings for the Walton MBA, which also includes the 11th best return on investment out of 600 MBAs. program, according to The Wall Street Journal.

“This top national ranking reflects the value of our high-quality MBA program,” said Walton College Dean Matt Waller in a statement. “It also demonstrates the respect that our faculty and graduates from partner business schools and companies from across the country show.”

To evaluate full-time MBA rankings, US News & World Report surveyed 493 domestic business programs accredited by AACSB International. This publication reviews assessments from peer business school deans, MBA program directors and corporate recruiters. It also examines job placement and graduate earnings as well as student selectivity for admission.

“Mba Walton is truly a transformative program,” Adam Stoverink, director of the Walton MBA Program and professor of management, said in the release. “This is evidenced by the many stories we hear from our outstanding alumni. Stories about how they use what they learn and experience at the Walton MBA to innovate or make strategic decisions or lead important organizational change. The story of how the Walton MBA positioned them for major promotions that allowed them to make a greater impact on their company, their employees, their customers, or society as a whole…a promotion that led to a significant quality of life improvement for their family… the story of how the Walton MBA changed their lives.

“While we certainly value ranking as one of the top MBA programs, and we are extremely proud of this ranking, it is the tremendous success of our alumni that tells the true story of the Walton MBA.”

Upon graduation, UA says current Walton MBA students have landed jobs at leading companies including Walmart, Tyson Foods, Raytheon Intelligence & Space, Nestle Purina, NielsenIQ, EY-Parthenon, Henkel, USA Truck and Island Ventures.
