Moody Nolan and KGD Chosen as Vision for the Center for Fine Arts and Communication
WASHINGTON, November 1, 2022 /PRNewswire/ — Howard University already chosen Washington DC-based on KGD and national architectural firm Moody Nolan to serve as a design partner for the future Center for Fine Arts and Communication, the state-of-the-art academic facility that will house the Chadwick A. Boseman College of Fine Arts.

In addition to the Chadwick A. Boseman College of Fine Arts, the Center for Fine Arts & Communication will also be home to the Cathy Hughes School of Communication, Howard University television and radio station, WHUR/WHUT.
This partnership between the KGD team and Moody Nolan is an organic collaboration that stems from the company’s shared values for innovation, diversity and inspiring design, as well as a shared commitment to creating resilient and beautiful places that contribute positively to communities and society.

For 40 years, Moody Nolan, the nation’s largest African-American-owned architectural firm and winner of the 2021 American Institute of Architects’ Firm Award has been a leader in developing Historically Black Colleges and University (HBCU) campuses. The Center for Fine Arts and Communications of the future will be established at the northern end of the upper quadrangle, behind Children’s Hall. This location will better allow event synchronization with the other large event venues clustered on the north end of campus. Phase One of the project is expected to be completed by July 2025open to students in the fall semester of 2025.
