The jury for the sixth edition of the ‘ET Campus Stars’ programme, India’s biggest hunt for the nation’s brightest engineers, boast an impressive lineup of technology and business leaders, including Daisy Chittilapilly, President, Cisco India & SAARC, Santhosh Kumar, Managing Director, Texas Instruments – India, Shailendra Katyal, Managing Director, Lenovo India P Ltd, and Lalit Singh, Managing Director, McGraw Hill – India, Prof. Dr. Frank Gielen, Executive Board Member And Education Director, EIT InnoEnergy, among others.

The August jury panel also included startup founders and product leaders from some of India’s most renowned internet economy companies, including Ashwin Damera, Co-founder and CEO, Eruditus & Emeritus, Dale Vaz, Chief Technology Officer, Swiggy, Kailash Nadh, Chief Technology Officer, Zerodha, and Shreyasi Singh, Founder & CEO, Harappa Education, among a number of other distinguished names from India’s startup ecosystem.

Launched in 2017, the ET Campus Stars program has attracted over 2 lakh engineering students from over 2000+ engineering colleges across the country. Conducted in 4 distinct phases, the ETCS program aims to foster a spirit of innovation among the country’s bright young thinkers by exposing them to real-world scenarios and evaluating them based on parameters such as leadership and critical thinking skills.

The ‘Meet the Jury’ round, which is the round of discovering the ETCS judging process, is also one of its most unique features. As part of this final assessment, selected students are able to meet and interact one-on-one with members of the ETCS Jury Panel where panelists not only interact with students but evaluate them, posting the final list of ET Campus Stars Winners announced.


Here’s more about the ET Campus Stars 6.0 jury members:

  1. Daisy Chittilapilly, President, Cisco India & SAARC: Passionate about empowering young people to join the technology space and guiding startups to innovate technology solutions for the most pressing social challenges, Daisy Chittilapilly, President of Cisco India and SAARC theater has over 25 years of experience in the technology industry including her 18 years leadership experience at Cisco. In his current role, he is responsible for strategy and sales, operations and investments to drive long-term growth in the India and SAARC region. Chittilapilly also serves as Co-Chair on the FICCI National Committee on Artificial Intelligence and Digital Transformation and is a member of the advisory board of the non-profit organization ‘Dragonflies Everywhere’.
  2. Prof. Dr. Frank Gielen, Member of the Executive Board and Director of Education, EIT InnoEnergy Prof. Dr. Frank Gielen, has extensive experience in R&D in the telecommunications and software technology sectors. Currently Member of the Executive Board and Director of Education, EIT InnoEnergy Prof. Dr. Frank Gielen also has experience in raising venture capital, university-industry collaborative research, and creating spin-offs. He is also a professor of software technology entrepreneurship at Ghent University. Prof. Gielen began his career as a software architect with AT&T Bell Labs in the US and became director of software technology at Alcatel. He has also worked with Tellium and iMinds in the past.
  3. Kailash Nadh, Chief Technology Officer, Zerodha: A self-taught coder with a BSc degree. in Computer Science (2008) and PhD in Artificial Intelligence & Computational Linguistics (2011) from Middlesex University, London, Kailash Nadh founded the technology team and built the technology for Zerodha, one of India’s largest online stockbrokers. A firm believer in the practical use of coding and learning from building things, Nadh will evaluate and assess shortlisted candidates as part of the final grading round at ET Campus Stars 6.0.
  4. Dale Vaz, Chief Technology Officer, Swiggy: Joining us in our quest to find the next generation of engineers with the potential to shape the future of technology in India is Dale Vaz, Chief Technology Officer at Swiggy. In his current role, Vaz is focused on turning a foodtech unicorn into an AI and ML-first company. Prior to joining Swiggy, he was director of technology for Amazon India and has over 18 years of software engineering experience, building technology platforms for organizations in three countries and six development centers.
  5. Shreyasi Singh, Founder & CEO, Harappa Education: An experienced journalist and the Founder & CEO of Harappa Education, Shreyasi Singh, will join the judging panel of ET Campus Stars 6.0. He has over 18 years of experience in various sectors including broadcast and print journalism, editorial leadership for entrepreneurship and business reporting, book writing, teaching, higher education administration and educational entrepreneurship. His company Harappa Education is an online learning institution that offers 25 different courses related to cognitive, social and behavioral skills.
  6. Hari Vasudev, SVP – Retail Technology Platform and Head of State, Walmart India: Among the distinguished jury members on the 6th edition of ET Campus Stars is Hari Vasudev, SVP – Retail Technology Platforms and Head of State, Walmart India. In his current role, Vasudev oversees the development and deployment of scalable and leverageable capabilities and systems, both within the company and externally. He has also worked with organizations such as Yahoo and Flipkart in the past.
  7. Archana Verma, Head of Technology Services, Sun Life: An accomplished leader with 26+ years of industry experience, Archana Verma, Head of Technology Services, Sun Life is one of the leading judges on ET Campus Stars 6.0. Verma comes with a long history of industry experience building, managing and transforming delivery centers with a global footprint, and has worked with organizations such as Accenture, AON and Aithent Technologies. He is an alumni of Delhi University and Management Development Institute.
  8. Jyothirlatha B, CTO, Godrej Capital: With nearly three decades of industry experience, Jyothirlatha, Chief Technology Officer at Godrej Housing Finance, has an excellent track record of building and maintaining stable systems across the retail financial services sector. In his current role, he leads the digital transformation strategy at Godrej Housing Finance. In previous assignments, he has worked with organizations such as DHFL, Tata Consultancy Services, ICICI Bank, and Vodafone where he was instrumental in developing innovation initiatives that ensure a scalable infrastructure and cybersecurity posture.
  9. Vidmay Naini, Head of State – India & Southeast Asia, eBay: An accomplished business leader and person with a multicultural and diverse team across the region, Vidmay Naini is Head of State – India & Southeast Asia at eBay. In her current role, she works to build eBay for export in India and the SEA region by empowering SMEs and creating economic opportunities for all. In addition, Naini is also proficient in Government & Industry consultancy and consultancy and is a member of CII’s National e-commerce committee
  10. Geetha Manjunath, Founder and CEO, NIRAMAI: Geetha Manjunath, Founder & CEO, NIRAMAI has led her company to develop a new solution to detect early stage breast cancer in a non-invasive radiation-free method using AI and machine learning solutions. He has more than 25 years of research expertise in the IT industry and has led several research projects in AI, cloud computing, semantic web, and several other fields. Manjunath has received numerous international and national acclaim for her innovation and entrepreneurial work which includes the CSI Gold Medal, BIRAC WinER Award 2018, Forbes List of 20 Self-Made Women 2020, Accenture Vahini Innovator of the Year Award from the Economic Times, and Women Entrepreneur of the Year 2020 by BioSpectrum India.
  11. Seshan Ramachandran, SVP & Head of Global Shipping – HLS, Tech Mahindra: A renowned global business leader with over 24 years of experience in diversifying IT and digital delivery for global clients across domains from service industries and technology product companies, to large-scale product development and outsourcing, Seshan Ramachandran, SVP & Global Delivery Head – HLS, Tech Mahindra, will be the judge for ET Campus Stars 6.0. Ramachandran who actively manages the strategy, operations and implementation of a major transformational outsourcing engagement for a global client will interact with students as part of the ‘Meet the Jury’ round which is the final phase of the ET Campus Stars programme.
  12. Lalit Singh, Managing Director, McGraw Hill – India: A renowned educator and Managing Director of McGraw Hill – India, Lalit Singh will chair the judging panel at the 6th edition of ET Campus Stars. He has over 18 years of experience as an executive in the healthcare, medical and higher education industries, and has worked in a variety of functional areas, including solutions sales, channel management, digital product development, business development, and general management. During the ‘Meet the Judges’ round, Singh will interact with selected students and answer questions posed by them.
  13. Santhosh Kumar, Managing Director, Texas Instruments – India: With nearly 20 years of experience, Santosh Kumar has worked with leaders around the world in fields related to business, engineering (electronic systems and products), product conceptualization, manufacturing and delivery. Currently Managing Director of Texas Instruments – India, Kumar was previously responsible for leading TI’s C6000 video product team and advanced driver assistance systems (ADAS). In his previous role, Kumar worked with various global customers and engineering teams to grow the ADAS IT business. He has also held several R&D leadership roles in IT India.
  14. Shailendra Katyal, Managing Director, Lenovo India P Ltd: With over 20 years of experience, Shailendra Katyal, Managing Director, Lenovo India has experience working in fields related to P&L, M&A and marketing leadership. He has also worked in FMCG and the consumer technology vertical. Prior to moving to the Managing Director position at Lenovo India, Katyal was Executive Director at Lenovo India PC and Smart Devices Group, where she led the consumer business. He first joined Lenovo in 2011 and has held roles in marketing, consumer PCs and tablets, home and small businesses, and e-commerce. Prior to joining Lenovo, he worked with organizations such as Wipro and Marico.
  15. Ashwin Damera, Co-founder and CEO, Eruditus & Emeritus: Ashwin Damera is Co-founder and CEO of Eruditus & Emeritus, an online learning platform that offers professional courses and certification programs from India’s leading universities and institutes. An angel investor and advisor to several startups and entrepreneurs, Ashwin holds an MBA from Harvard Business School and is also a qualified Chartered Accountant. Passionate about making quality education accessible to the next generation of leaders around the world, Damera started her career with Citigroup and co-founded Travelguru in 2005 which was later acquired by Travelocity in 2009.
  16. Shyam Prabhakar Mardikar, President, Mobility Group CTO, Reliance Jio: Technology thought leader, Shyam Prabhakar Mardikar, President, Group CTO Mobility, Reliance Jio comes with over 24 years in the telecommunications industry across Network and IT domains in Strategy, Planning, Engineering and Operations across India and Europe. During his career, Mardikar has worked with companies such as Airtel, Lebara and also served as Deputy General Manager at the Telecommunications Department, India. He is also a member of the GSMA’s executive management committee.
