A&T Gets No. 1 HBCU from UniversityHQ | Biden News

TIMUR GREENSBORO, NC (October 17, 2022) – North Carolina State University of Agriculture and Engineering has been named the No. Black college or university. 1 Historically America (HBCU) by UniversityHQ, an Arizona-based company that helps students find top-rated campuses, examine career and salary options and identify financial support for the school.

UniversityHQ retrieved data for the evaluation from the federal government’s College Navigator and College Scorecard websites, the US Bureau of Labor Statistics, and compensation data company PayScale.

Spelman College in Atlanta and Howard University in Washington, DC, round out the HBCU’s top three. UniversityHQ also ranked NC A&T among the nine North Carolina HBCU campuses included in the evaluation.

Among public HBCU campuses, A&T also ranks No. 1, followed by Florida A&M (No. 5) and Lincoln University (No. 8).

In its overall Best Colleges list, UniversityHQ ranks A&T sixth among the 54 registered campuses in North Carolina and third among public NC campuses, after the University of North Carolina at Chapel Hill and North Carolina State University, ranked respectively. No. 2 and 3 .

Over the past five years, UniversityHQ has published various other rankings. Recently, the company has acquired other ranking systems, such as Online MBA Review and Discover Health Admin, to further refine its offerings.
