After more than five years of development, Italian developer Santa Ragione is proud to announce the launch of Saturnalia for PS4 & 5, Xbox One, Series X|S, Switch and PC via the Epic Games Store.
Saturnalia is a single-player survival horror adventure game set in the Italian region of Sardinia in the year 1989. In the game, you take control of four distinct co-protagonists and utilize their unique abilities to avoid a terrifying creature, uncover the secrets plaguing the city, and finally escapes the village of Gravoi.

Single Configuration: Carefully designed and based on real-life location scouting across the island of Sardinia, Gravoi’s handcrafted areas are procedurally recombined for each new game, ensuring that no two players will share the same village layout.

Immersive Visuals: Saturnalia’s art borrows from rotoscope animation, traditional etching, expressionist art, and theatrical scenography to create a world covered in color and shadow, producing a hauntingly beautiful atmosphere that is as delightful as it is chilling.

Monster Maze: In the absence of signs or compasses, players must instead rely on signs and local landmarks to navigate within Gravoi – all while a terrifying creature stalks the cobblestone streets, waiting for its chance to strike.

Band of Misfits: Saturnalia offers four unique playable characters, some of which are available at the start of the story while others must be unlocked. Each has their own special abilities that are integrated to complete the game’s many puzzles, and players will be able to team up and switch between characters to cover more ground, survive attacks and reveal new locations.

Dynamic and Adaptive Storytelling: The non-linear plot of Saturnalia allows for unique paths of progression, letting the player dictate the order in which they would like to tackle challenges and solve mysteries. Gravoi is a living and breathing world where any event can happen to any character at any time, with every event, puzzle and character interaction dynamically integrated into the story.
The publisher was kind enough to provide us with a physical press kit, which includes a Blu-ray case of the game with a reversible cover, a hardcover 100-page art book with all the concept art and sketches of the game, limited edition. vinyl edition original music, and a handmade, ethically sourced leather mask based on the design of the creature in Saturnalia.
The game costs $19.99/€19.99 on all platforms and is available with a -10% launch sale during the first week on console, and as part of the free promotion week in the Epic Games Store. In addition to this discount, the game’s soundtrack and artbook are available as a single $9.99/€9.99 add-on on EGS and Bandcamp.
