Microsoft has gone all in on the PC market with its Xbox Game Pass service. This service requires the use of the Xbox application for Windows. Unfortunately, it’s not very feature-packed especially when compared to other desktop clients. That said, according to Phil Spencer, a “Major” update can be expected soon.
As reported by Tom Warren of The Vergein a recent interview hosted by YouTuber iJustine as part of the ‘Same Brain’ podcast, Phil Spencer teased that “we’re doing a lot more work with PC, because I think PC is important. We have a big update to our Xbox app that’s actually coming in the next few weeks .
Spencer didn’t elaborate on what this update might bring, but the Xbox app has a lot of shortcomings compared to other clients, so it will be interesting to see what makes this upcoming update “big.”
After this statement, fans began to speculate what this update could be, some suggest that it could offer a UI overhaul, while others hope that substantive features will come to PC such as the ability to play Xbox 360 games on PC. While the latter probably won’t happen, a big update coming to the Xbox app is pretty exciting regardless.
