Ford of Europe today announced that customers hoping to own the next-generation Ranger Raptor can now order the performance pickup truck. Starting at €77,338.10 (almost $82,000 at current exchange rates) in Germany, the truck is one of the brand’s most expensive vehicles in Europe.
Customers can explore the variety of options on offer in the Ranger Raptor configurator, which offers eight exterior color options, a decal kit and one optional package that adds functional protective mounts and roller shutters. As this is a well-equipped model from the get-go, the options don’t add a huge amount to the cost, and the highest price I was able to get was €81,419.80 (about $86,000 USD).

As standard, the European Ranger Raptor is equipped with a 3.0-liter Ecoboost V6 engine that develops 284 hp. (212 kW/288 hp) and 491 Nm (362 lb-ft) of torque. However, customers may be upset when they read that the Australian version of the engine is tuned for 392 hp. (292 kW/397 hp) and 583 Nm (430 ft-lb) of torque. Still, the European version makes 30 percent more power than the previous diesel Ranger Raptor, so that’s an improvement.
Power is just the beginning of the story, too, as the 2023 Ranger Raptor features FOX Live Valve shocks, seven selectable drive modes, 10 gears, four-wheel drive, and a class-exclusive exhaust system that offers four different volume levels to let you being a good neighbor where appropriate and a badass off-road.
Inside, it’s a fairly civilized affair. Although the seats are inspired by a jet fighter, the leather steering wheel is heated, the interior has red stitching and the gearshift paddles are made of magnesium. There’s also a 12.4-inch digital instrument cluster, a 12-inch touchscreen infotainment system, and a 10-speaker B&O audio system.
“The ability to build the next-generation Ranger Raptor of their dreams is now a reality for our customers, and they can experiment with a range of options using our online configurator,” said Hans Schepp, General Manager, Ford Pro, Europe. “Whatever the combination, the Ranger Raptor will always deliver the ultimate off-road driving experience.”
UK configurator and pricing will be available on May 24th
Ford UK says that while the configurator and pricing are not yet available in this market, they will be revealed on Tuesday 24 May to coincide with the start of the Birmingham CV Show.
Deliveries to customers in Europe should begin this summer. North American buyers, meanwhile, will have to wait a little longer before getting their hands on the Ranger Raptor, as the new model is expected to arrive here in 2023.
