You felt it was a little underwhelming Ford didn’t think North America was important enough to bring the best rangers here? We have. We used to have a ridiculously small Ranger with only two doors and not much of the appeal that a truck usually brings. When the Ranger returned to North America, it was a model that was already halfway through its life cycle and did not include some of the best models like the Raptor.
Fortunately, Ford decided to correct this anomaly. The Ranger is all-new for the 2023 model year, and we’re getting the best that can come from the Ranger. We’re excited to finally be able to experience the best aspects of the Ranger as it’s been thoroughly redesigned and ready to take on whatever comes its way.

Finally we have a brand new ranger
As mentioned earlier, when the US finally got the Ranger in 2019, it wasn’t an all-new Ranger. It was a mid-cycle refresh of the Ranger sold overseas. This means that when he came here, he was still behind where he could be. The interior reflected Ford’s old design language, and it didn’t necessarily have the latest technology either.
A lot has changed in the 2023 model year. The Ranger not only looks more modern, but also has additional features. You can now opt for the new Ranger’s large 12.1-inch center screen, which we’ve already seen in cars like the F-150 Lightning and Mustang Mach-E. In terms of overall styling, the Ranger enters a new era with an appearance more in line with other Ford trucks like the F-150. Details on the powertrains used are still scarce as there is still some time before the new Ranger is here.
Ranger Raptor joins the family
It was disappointing when we first learned that the previous-generation Ranger didn’t get the Raptor treatment in North America. In a way, we didn’t lose too much because the four-cylinder turbodiesel didn’t have enough power for what we’ve come to expect from the Raptor lineup.
Still, it’s nice to have some representation in the SUV segment. Our wishes are finally granted as the Ranger finally arrives here in Raptor form. In international form, the Ranger Raptor is a twin-turbocharged V6 that makes 392 horsepower and 430 lb-ft of torque. The new Ranger Raptor finally has the off-road and performance credentials to rise to the top of the segment.
Trucks have been big business for Ford since forever, and the new Ranger is very important to them. This gives the marque a chance to dethrone some of the biggest players in the segment, such as the Toyota Tacoma. Ford has shown they can do a lot with their trucks, and finally, that means their offerings in one of the most popular truck segments.
