It is both an honor and a privilege to support individuals and families who have gone through extremely difficult times because of the sacrifices they have made for our country,” he added.

In addition to the company’s annual donation, RealTruck gives its 5,000 employees the opportunity to donate a portion of their weekly paychecks to Building Homes for Heroes, in which RealTruck matches dollar-for-dollar any amount. RealTruck will also offer volunteer days where willing employees will help with things like painting and landscaping.

Building Homes for Heroes was founded by Andy Pujol, who participated in the search and rescue efforts on September 11, 2001. Seeing the horror around him, Pujol pledged himself that day to serve his country and help the brave men and women who fought for America’s freedom after the 9/11 attacks, and those who continue to serve and protect today.

“21 years ago, we made a promise that we would never forget. We are proud to say we have fulfilled that promise with the support we receive from patriotic companies like RealTruck,” said Pujol, CEO of Building Homes for Heroes. “For the fifth year in a row, we will build 11 homes in the 11 weeks between 9/11 and Veterans Day in honor of all those we tragically lost on that fateful day. Together, we are all building a better and brighter life for our nation’s heroes, making our communities and country a better place for everyone.”

Since its inception in 2006, Building Homes for Heroes has built and delivered 303 mortgage-free homes. On Sept. 10, the organization dedicated its 300th home to Army Specialist Jonathan Merchant in North Lake, Texas, and will celebrate this and other milestones. at the annual Veterans Day gala in New York.
