Matias Andres-Francisco, Osceola, was booked with no valid driver’s license, open container (driver 21 or older) and failure to provide proof of financial responsibility after a crash Nov. 8 at the intersection of South Delaware and Hwy 34 east.

According to an Osceola police report, Noreen Smith of Osceola was driving a 2007 Hyundai Tucson west on West McLane Street and began to turn left into the HyVee parking lot. Smith told police she spotted a car waiting to turn onto West McLane. As Smith began to turn left, a 2007 Toyota Tacoma driven by Matias Andres-Francisco of Osceola entered the intersection, striking Smith’s vehicle.

Open containers were found in Andres-Francisco’s vehicle and he consented to a standard field sobriety test. Andres-Francisco was arrested after OWI tests were completed.

No casualties have been reported.

Damage to the 2007 Hyundai is estimated at $1,500 and the 2006 Toyota is $1,500.

No citations have been issued since the Nov. 9 crash in the Dollar General parking lot.

According to an Osceola police report, Wanda Frizell, Osceola, was driving a 2021 Subaru Ascent through the parking lot when a 2017 Dodge Journey driven by Sandra Skadden of Van Wert began to reverse and hit Frizell.

Damage is estimated at $500 for the 2021 Subaru and $500 for the 2017 Dodge.

According to an Osceola police report, Jose Tapia Telles, Ames, was driving a 2016 Volkswagen Jetta westbound on West McLane when a deer crossed into his southbound lane. Tapia Tellez was unable to avoid the deer, which struck the front of the vehicle, causing damage there as well as along the driver’s side.

Damage to the 2016 Volkswagen is estimated at $2,500. The deer did not survive.**

No citations were issued after the Nov. 11 crash on the I35 southbound ramp to Hwy 34 East.

According to an Osceola police report, Ronald Steele of Stoughton, Wis., was waiting at a stop sign to make a right turn in a 2018 Chrysler van. Danette Walker of Parsons, Kansas, was driving too close in a 2018 Chrysler 300S and hit Steele in the back before she could stop.

Damage is estimated at $500 to the 2018 Chrysler 300S and $2,500 to the 2018 Chrysler van.

After the accident on November 12, no documents were issued on Yuzhnoye Hustin Street.

According to an Osceola Police report, officers were told that a 1996 Ford Ranger that was parked in the parking lot at 420 South Gustin Street – Gustin SStreet Apartments – rolled down a hill and crashed into a building at 422 South Gustin St, striking the exterior. the north wall of apartment 3. Officers were able to make contact with both owners.

Damage to the 1996 Ford is estimated at $1,500 and the buildings at $15,000.
