Ford presented the new generation Ford Ranger Raptor. More precisely, the truck that was presented to the public yesterday is a model intended for other markets around the world; but that won’t bother anyone, as we learned Monday night that Ford has decided to offer the next-generation Ranger Raptor in North America in 2023.
We can expect our version to be very similar to the truck just unveiled, especially since it borrows its signature from the new Maverick. Any differences in our version will be minimal and will mainly be North American regulatory requirements or simply trim levels.
Mechanically, the formula used with the Bronco Raptor is evident here, with the performance pickup getting a twin-turbo 3.0-liter V6 currently making 392 hp. and 430 lb-ft of torque. A 10-speed automatic transmission is standard, as is all-wheel drive, of course. The model is also equipped with a 2-speed transfer case and locking front and rear differentials.
However, there is a slight difference regarding the suspension. While the Bronco Raptor takes the Fox Racing adaptive shocks (3.1-inch diameter) from the F-150 Raptor, the Ranger inherits slightly smaller Fox shocks (2.5-inch diameter). Several drive modes will be available, each affecting chassis handling and tuning, exhaust noise levels, transmission ratios, and more.

2023 Ford Ranger Raptor (Europe), front
Aesthetically, as in all Raptor models, the radiator grill is dominated by a large FORD inscription. In addition, the body looks wider than in conventional models, the effect is achieved thanks to, shall we say, prominent fender flares. 33-inch BF Goodrich K02 off-road tires are seen in images released by Ford.
2023 Ford Ranger Raptor (Europe), interior
Although the external changes are quite interesting, the most significant changes occur inside. Compared to the outdated interior of the current Ranger Raptor, the interior of the new model is much more modern. Among other elements, we find a large 12-inch touch screen, located vertically, as well as a group of sensors with digital displays. A Sync multimedia system is included, as is a premium audio system that will be offered with higher-end trims.
We need to see what else is planned for our market. Of course, the appearance of a new generation Ranger can only help the model, whose sales have not met expectations in the last few years. We can only hope that the price range is at least in a reasonable range, unlike the current edition.
We will get back to you with more information about the options that will be reserved for our market when they become available.
