It’s an easy car to drive and parking is surprisingly good too. It’s long, so there were a few small parking lots where I had to do six-point turns to get it off the ground, but the optional 360-degree camera and rear-view camera take any fear away. And by the end of the first day, I had no doubts about taking on the park.
There are steps required, and they saved me time (and my back) from having to lift my five-year-old in and out. Installing the child seat requires a little effort, but you will not be annoyed if you “set and forget”.
If you have to move them around regularly because you share places with your in-laws etc, it gets really tiring.
Everything is where you expect it to be, buttons and controls are easily accessible from the driver’s seat and visibility out the windows is fantastic.
A hard, lockable tray cover would be welcome, but you can get this installed aftermarket for around $4,000. However, it seems almost redundant when you can pick up a Wildtrak model for almost the same price and get additional luxury features for the upgrade.
The extra liner is sprayed on and helps hold your gear so things don’t slide around as much. It costs an extra $500, but it seems to help.
If things slide backwards, there are handy side steps next to the rear wheels to help access the tray. The tailgate is easy to operate. It is light and very wide.
You also have clamp points to help you create a proper workbench when you’re on the job or just working on a project at home. The Sport comes with a towbar and a full-size spare tire, so you should be ready for any adventure.
