If Tank is going to fight in DC, the biggest enemy for him is the native of Maryland Gary Antoine Russellwho could be said to be a better fighter than the people he fought during his career.
Russell (16-0, 16 KOs), brother of former featherweight champion Gary Russell Jr, fights at 140 and is one of the most talented young artists in the division.
Mayweather Promotions has been very consistent with Gervonta throughout his career, and they will need to be willing to take the risk of letting him face a talented fighter for a change like Gary Antoine.
Antuanne Russell fights on Showtime, making it easy to match him with Tank Davis. In Russell’s last fight against former world champion Rances Barthelemy, he reached 137 pounds in a sixth-round knockout last July.
Russell could easily make 135 for a fight with Tank Davis, and it would be the most entertaining fight for the boxing public out of all the wins we’ve seen from him.
Unlike Tank’s previous opponents, Rolando ‘Rolly’ Romero and Mario Barrios, Gary Antuanne Russell can fight.

It is known that Tank wants to fight the famous boxer/social media expert Ryan Garciabut DAZN doesn’t want to let Kingry fight on SHOWTIME without them participating in the match.
There is a lot of money DAZN will lose out on if they let Ryan (23-0, 19 KOs) fight on Showtime without their hand.
In addition to this, the career of a boxer like Ryan will be over once he fights Gervonta and is knocked out in a few rounds. If you were Golden Boy or DAZN, you wouldn’t let Ryan Garcia fight Tank Davis without their signature because he could lose badly.
Once that happens, the ratings he’s bringing in for his battle with veterans won’t bring in as many new subscribers as they did before.
Yesterday, Tank (27-0, 25 KOs) posted on social media that he is fighting on January 7th. He then quickly deleted his post, leaving boxing fans to wonder if he would ever fight again.
