Terence Crawford regretted his decision as a professional nosedives

The news that Terence Crawford will fight on the same stage that hosted Scarface vs One-Eyed Wolf earlier this year represents a nosedive for the boxing star.

In a surprising move, “Bud” signed on to face the dangerous David Avanesya on December 10th after moving on from talks with Errol Spence Jr.

Boxing fans were shocked at the announcement after reports Spence and Crawford were close to a February 2023 fight.

Not so much as Crawford’s out-of-the-blue knockout overturned the idea that the welterweight division could be a one-man division.

Terence Crawford on BLK Prime

The anonymous BLK Prime will now host the event with Avanesyan. After entering the game, BLK Prime referred to itself as a “Pay-Per-View subscription Amateur platform.”

Don Crawford becoming their big name after no real impact in the game came as a big surprise. It’s hard to imagine many punters will sign up or buy a PPV.

After announcing the fight, BLK said: “Terence Crawford returns to the ring on December 10th as he faces current European champion and WBC No. 4-ranked David Avanesyan at the CHI Medical Center in Crawford. of Omaha, Neb.

“BlK Prime will stream the fight for $39.99.”

“This will be BLK Prime’s first broadcast of professional boxing, but the Silicon Valley technology company has launched a non-professional competition.

“BLK Prime is a premium video-on-demand company that uses cutting-edge technology to deliver the highest quality streaming services available.

The first professional meeting

A BLK spokesperson added: “BLK Prime has been around for five years. We are delighted to announce our first World Cup competition.

“Terence Crawford is a home run to make our first pound-for-pound number one. [number six on the WBN list] hero in the world.

“We can’t wait for December 10th in Omaha, Neb.”

Boxing suffered later. And with yet another platform in sports increasingly disrupting TV, it’s hard to see the benefit of running Crawford’s career.

He recently turned 35 and is running out of time to make a significant impact. His run to the undisputed 140-pound crown was too easy to be real.

Therefore, confronting Errol Spence is the way to go. Men and their organizations should all step back to make this happen.

Crawford was apparently backed into a corner because he didn’t have much representation after leaving Top Rank. He needs an opponent who can do his thing, and Avanesyan fits the bill on that score.

A win over Avanesyan should mark a serious move for the Omaha man unless he can secure a deal with the PBC in 2023.

Crawford vs Avanesyan

Three-division world champion and current WBO Welterweight World Champion Crawford (38-0, 29 KOs), 35, is a pound-for-pound star.

“Known for his quickness, ring IQ, flexibility, defense, and natural ability to transition from normal to southpaw, Crawford won his first world heavyweight title in 2008.

Crawford became the undisputed 140-pound world champion after defeating Julius Indongo in August 2017. The win made him the first undisputed champion at 140 pounds since Kostya Tszyu in 2004.

“He is the first boxer to hold all four major belts since Jermain Taylor in 2005.

“Recently, Crawford has defeated world champions Jeff Horn, Amir Khan, Kell Brook, and Shawn Porter.

“The last time he fought, Crawford became the first fighter to stop Porter, knocking him out twice in the 10th round.

Frank Warren of Queensberry’s Promotions promotes 34-year-old Russian citizen Avanesyan (29-3-1, 17 KOs).

The biggest win of Avanesyan’s career happened in 2016 when he went on to score a decision against former world champion Shane Mosley to retain his title.

He defeated Mosely while also playing for the United States. Avanesyan is currently riding a six-knockout streak and is considered a very dangerous opponent.
