Sunny Edwards was honored with the IBF ring on the eve of the most dangerous fight of his life.
The 26-year-old put his IBF world title on the line at Probellum Sheffield on Friday night when he faced the hard-hitting Felix Alvarado.
And Edwards, who first won the title in April last year, was given a special ring to acknowledge his reign as the 112-pound world champion.
Edwards said: “I have been waiting for this ring for a long time, and I wanted to go to the main event of the IBF to receive it. But to be presented here, in Sheffield, means more, more personal.
“There is only one night left now, and that is the night of fighting.” I hope so and I hope the Utilita Arena gets up and roaring tomorrow. ”
Probellum Sheffield also has a great British professional final between Jack Bateson and Shabaz Masoud, the first British athlete of Olympic champion Hebert Conceição and the new struggle of women’s boxer Lisa Whiteside.
