British fighter Ohara Davies has hit back at Tony Bellew five years after the pair made comments about the Hillsborough disaster.
Davies and Bellew exchanged words on social media when the former WBC cruiserweight champion looked down on “OD” for his lack of understanding.
The conflict worsened with more comments made by Davies on a national newspaper that the people of Liverpool boycotted as a result of bad reports.

In 2017, Davies issued a statement after urging his followers to buy a British tabloid.
“This is the last time I will speak on the subject and I apologize again to those I have wronged in ignorance,” said Davies.
Some of the posts read: “I was completely ignorant. Now I’m still a little ignorant as I read what happened but I’m still not sure what part of the newspaper had to do with the 96 deaths. [now 97].”
Producer Eddie Hearn fired him from the scheduled release and later for a long time over the matter.
Bellew responded to Davies and his apology in separate tweets.
“So Ohara doesn’t know why Tommy Coyle doesn’t like the rag! I’ll be honest; I’d usually say “bol****,” but seeing as that, I can accept this.
“The only thing left for me to say is, “think before you strike in the future.”

Bellew added: “Edward [Hearn] I didn’t ask me to do anything! He’s a gob**** who has no brain!
“T*** who has no discipline, that’s why he doesn’t know about 96! Now go back to your desk, helmet boy!”
Half a decade later, Davies decided to respond to Bellew and re-open the issue.
“Maybe I don’t know about 96 because I don’t follow football,” said Davies. “Also, because it happened before I was born.”

Davies played the bear by kicking Tony Bellew’s beloved Everton football club.
“But what I know about football is that Everton are a terrible team. When was the last time they won the league?”
The back-and-forth update comes as Davies tries to find a new promoter after his long career.
“As fighters, we have one job. Our managers and promoters would have a lot of fighters, but we retired in our mid-30s.
“They continue to manage and develop until they die. Put yourself first and do everything that is right for you without waiting,” said the Londoner before adding his hope for a new representation.

“I called [mu manager] Lee Eaton today to start contacting BOXXER and Frank Warren today. These are my first choices.
“If there is nothing more than empty promises and words on Wednesday, I will also look at other developments in the state.”
In a final statement about his controversial Twitter review, Davies cited his future goals.
“Twitter is a free speech platform. I will exercise my freedom of speech without being pressured to filter or delete anything I tweet.”
However, Davies may have to be careful if he wants to ply his trade on Sky Sports or BT Sport in the coming months.
