By Brian Webber: Tim Bradley has predicted that Keith ‘One Time’ Thurman will be easy prey for Errol Spence Jr in his next title defense of the IBF, WBA & WBC welterweight belts in 2023.
Bradley feels that former WBA/WBC 147-lb champion Thurman (30-1, 22 KOs) will be knocked out of the competition. “infinite pressure” combined with a body attack from the undefeated Spence.
Tim may be selling Thurman short, however, because he showed in his last fight in February against Mario Barrios that he still has the power, speed, movement, and boxing IQ to overwhelm his opponent.
Earlier this week, on Wednesday, the WBC ordered a fight between Spence and Thuran at their main event, but we have not heard any official word from Errol if he will take the fight or relinquish his World Boxing Council belt.
Given that Thurman is a mandatory WBC title for Spence, it leaves Errol with no choice but to take the fight if he wants to keep his belt with this organization.
“Thurman is not setting a trap on Spence’s fault, I’ll tell you that right now,” said Tim Bradley to Fighthype when asked about his thoughts on the recent WBC-ordered Errol Spence vs. Keith ‘One Time’ Thurman fight. .
“The only thing Thurman has to do is sit down after getting hit with one of those body shots from Errol Spence. I’m only putting up 100.
“Thurman’s got some power, he’s got some footwork, and he’s got some speed, but with Spence with so much pressure, I don’t see Thurman getting out of this fight alive, I really don’t.
“When I say alive, I don’t think he will come out with his legs. I think it will be published. Errol Spence will stop him. But it’s a good fight. Thurman is still a big name in the game, and he’s still a player. He is still a man who believes.
“He’s still a guy who believes he can fight the best in the division. I’ve got to give him credit for that. If Thurman takes the fight and really goes down, more power to him, man.
Spence vs. Crawford: Who’s to blame?
“I really don’t care who’s guilty,” Bradley said of Spence’s fight with Terence Crawford that failed to win a nomination. “I think we just want to see a fight, bro.” Well. I am not pointing fingers at anyone.
“Sooner or later, people, let this fight happen. Let’s fight. So I don’t care about it. Not on my radar anymore.
“Once they announce the fight and they will confirm the incident, that’s when I will be happy with the situation, but until then, I will let them do their thing. It is what it is.
“Avanesyan? Yes, there’s no doubt about it,” Bradley said when asked if David Avanesyan will be cooking with Crawford on December 10. “Yes, he’s cooking, no doubt. It’s a perfect fit for Crawford.
“Crawford’s boxing power, punching power, timing, it’s too much for a guy like Avanesyan, but it’s still good for Crawford. I’m glad he’s back in the ring.
“As I said, hopefully, in 2023, these people [Spence & Crawford] we will continue, and we will see who is the best welterweight in the world,” said Bradley.
