By Chris Williams: Robeisy Ramirez coach Ismael Salas criticized Terence Crawford for choosing to fight David Avanesyan instead of Errol Spence Jr.

Salas pointed out that Crawford is not looking to fight the best way that Spence (28-0, 22 KOs) does. He said that Spence “never turned down a fight with a big one.”

In comparison, the best name on Crawford’s resume is Yuriorkis Gamboa, and that’s when the Cuban star is already past his best, fighting with different types different types of feathers.

Crawford (38-0, 29 KOs) is expected to earn $10 million to fight Avanesyan (29-3-1, 17 KOs) on December 10th on BLK Prime pay-per-view.

Whether Crawford actually earns that amount is unknown. If Crawford chooses to take the floor to be busy this year, it won’t be a surprise.

If Spence chooses not to re-engage with Crawford because of his bail on their negotiations, the Nebraska native will back off on his decision to walk away.

I don’t know how Spence and his management are going to trust Crawford again after pulling this off because who’s to say he won’t do it again?

“I’m very disappointed because this fight could have been a better match will be 2022” said trainer Ismael Salas for Fighthype when asked about his thoughts on Terence Crawford choosing to fight David Avanesyan instead of Errol Spence Jr.

“I don’t know why. They said Crawford was out. We missed the opportunity to see two great fighters. Crawford is the man,” Salas said when asked about his thoughts on Crawford fighting Avanesyan. “Who is in the heart of a fighter?

“One thing I saw, for example, about Spence is that he never refuses to fight the surface. That’s one thing I like about Spence. Crawford, choosing his opponent. Of course he beats the big guys, but I think if he continues like that, boxing is not for life.

“So, I think the biggest fight money for Crawford is the Spence fight. It is [Crawford] always accept [less than the top guys that he can beat]. Some say Mayweather did, but no one can say Mayweather isn’t the greatest.

“Nobody can complain about Mayweather. Even now, he’s making a lot of money.

“I’m still a little worried about Spence about his eye. Before he pulled out of the Pacquiao fight because he got a big injury in sparring.

“After us [Yordenis Ugas] fight with him [Spence], I saw some cracks. In the sixth round Ugaas hit him in the area [of Spence’s surgically repaired eye], he supported. So I can see a split there.

“Even if he’s not worried, he’s in the mood,” Salas said when asked if Spence was worried about getting his eye surgery done. “Something is telling you, ‘Hey, be careful.’

“Even if your heart tells you to go, inside [brain] this tells you, ‘Hey, hey, hey.’

“Pacquiao is making money,” Salas said when asked about his thoughts on Manny Pacquiao wanting to fight the winner of Spence vs. Crawford.

“The difference between Pacquiao and Mayweather is that Mayweather spent all his money. So Mayweather is like a money making machine. Pacquiao is different.

“He used to make a lot of money, but he spent a lot of money on charity and politics. For this, he spent a lot of money. So, Pacquiao needs a big fight.

“No,” Salas said when asked if Pacquiao could beat Crawford or Spence. “If he fights Crawford, he’s already out of position. Yes,” said Salas on whether Crawford will knock out Pacquiao.

“Yeah, he’s slow,” Salas said of Canelo Alvarez not being in his prime. “I saw Canelo from day one until today. He’s going to be good in every fight, but in his last fight, he didn’t show anything.”
