By Charles Brown: Promoter Frank Warren has now announced that Tyson Fury will defend his WBC heavyweight title against #14 WBC contender Derek Chisora on December 3rd.
Interestingly, Warren said Chisora could give Fury a better fight than Anthony Joshua, which is hard to believe when you look at how poor Derek was in his fights with Kubrat Pulev and Joseph Parker recently.
It is a good choice for Fury (32-0-1, 23 KOs) to fight the 38-year-old Chisora (33-12, 23 KOs) because he is a book traveler, and the recent ring record is 1-3 . in his last four fights. There are no words to describe how poor Chisora has been lately.
Even through voluntary security measures, this is it really scrapes the bottom of the barreland it is clear that this fight is not to provide the fans with a fight but more to earn a little money because Chisora is known to the British boxing community.
“We have a bigger opponent, which is Derek Chisora,” Frank Warren told iFL TV about Tyson Fury’s next opponent on December 3rd. “That’s where we’re going, and it’s going to be on the third of December.”
Chisora is ranked #14 in the World Boxing Organization, and it is hard to believe that he is Fury’s biggest opponent. You have to believe that there could be someone bigger for Fury to fight on December 3 that will provide a more competitive fight than the 38-year-old Chisora.
If you saw how sore and tired Chisora looked in his last two fights against Pulev and Parker, you would fear that he was selected to challenge Fury for his WBC title. Chisora is worse than a shot.
The reason he beat the 41-year-old Pulev was because he was better on the mound.
“Tyson hasn’t been out in a year, and we thought the fight in December would be Usyk, but Usyk didn’t get it. Now it looks like, I hope, it will take place in February. Tyson wants to fight before that, and he wants to get out. We want to get him out, and that’s where we are.
“Let him fight against Chisora, and if he wins, then let him fight with the big one. That’s what it’s all about this year, really.
“Drek can give him a better fight than Anthony Joshua. I just think it is [Joshua] it’s more vulnerable,” Warren said.
