Jake Paul was told he needed to fight a good opponent in the boxing ring. He did. Paul was also told that he had to beat Anderson Silva. He did.
However, Paul did not receive any recognition for what he accomplished on October 29 against Silva.
Are the grades too far from Paul? Was the war rigged, as the internet’s imagination suggests? None of this is due to the overall result and the fact that Paul knocked Silva down. You may not agree with the decision, but it is not robbery.
Regardless, Jake Paul should be taken seriously as a boxer.
Paul has shown improvement as a fighter since his battle with AnEsonGib. He faced another in Silva, who defeated former champion Julio Cesar Chavez Jr. This is Paul’s third fight against an MMA fighter, but it helped him a lot in the competition. “Problem Boy” has a long way to go, but there’s no denying his talent.
The Silva fight was only Paul’s sixth fight. Check out BoxRec and check out who your favorite fighters faced in their sixth fight. Manny Pacquiao? Julio Cesar Chavez? His fans want to see Paul face a real boxer. Others want to see him fail.
Paul is helping the community in his own special way. He brought an eye to sports, which had issues outside of Paul’s. There are complaints about Paul, but there are bigger complaints that fans can make in boxing, like Errol Spence Jr. and Terence Crawford do not fight each other. What about a light heavyweight title fight? Ryan Garcia vs Gervonta Davis?
