European bantamweight champion Alessio Lorusso (Italy, 19-4-2 with 7 KOs) will fight Mikheil Soloninkin (Georgia, 10-24-1) over six rounds at The Art of Fighting 2 on November 19.

The battle took place in Meda, a town in Northern Italy that is world-renowned for its design.

Lorusso won the bantamweight belt of the EBU last October 14 with TKO 12 against Sebastian Perez (Pais Vasco, Spain) in Monza and that made him a champion in Brianza, an area known for its natural wealth and thousands of companies and that export their products all over the world.

“We want to give our fans the best – said promoter Edoardo Germani – and in Brianza right now Alessio is the best and we are proud of him. I am sure the PalaMeda stadium will be sold out on November 19.”

When asked why he will be back in the ring just one month after winning the EBU title, what Lorusso said: “I don’t need a long break between fights.

“Yes, the fight with Sebastian Perez was tough, but not as tough as it was on TV. He hit me a few times, but his punches didn’t hurt.

“In the 10th round, I realized that Perez felt my punch in the body and I continued to hit him in the body.

“In the 11th round, Perez slowed down and I realized I could take him out. In the 12th round I finished him.”

Other six-round bouts will feature some exciting local events: Francesco Paparo vs Simone Carlin (heavyweight), Momo El Maghraby vs Kristi Doni (middleweight), Cristian Mazzon vs Francesco Zito (super welterweights).
