However, a saga will follow after Fury accused his Englishman of refusing to sign the contract after giving AJ and his team the deadline. When the deadline was not met, Fury took to social media to announce to the world that the fight was over.
A few days later, the King of Gypsy returned to his Instagram page where he stated that he gave Joshua more time to complete the information for the fight after his promoter Frank Warren was satisfied. However, the negotiations did not reach a conclusion, and the competition was officially suspended last month.
There has been much debate as to why the war in Britain never went ahead, with both sides blaming each other for the breakup. More than four weeks ago, promoter Joshua Hearn spoke out about the incident, after a fighter accused him of ‘kicking’ his fighter at a public event.

“I think people in the last couple of weeks have seen maybe a different side to him, but he’s still a very smart Tyson Fury.” Despite doubting the authenticity of Fury’s comments during the interview, Hearn labeled the Gypsy King a ‘great fighter’ and believes the fight with Joshua ‘has to happen’.
He continued: “Tyson Fury, even though he’s a bit up and down and I don’t agree with everything he says, he’s a great fighter. For me, the Anthony Joshua fight is a fight that should happen, it did. “
