Former trainer Abel Sanchez thinks Canelo Alvarez is too small to fight WBA heavyweight champion Dmitry Bivol again at 175.
At this time, Canelo did not show interest in fighting Bivol in their rematch after losing to him last May.
Sanchez doesn’t need to warn Canelo about the Bivol fight either because he didn’t play too hard to face him again after being embarrassed earlier this year.

Sanchez feels that Canelo (58-2-2, 39 KOs) should move up to the 168-lb division and face a couple of young fighters.
Without Sanchez naming who he is thinking of for Canelo at super middleweight, it seems to mean David Benavidez same to you David Morrell. Those two are the best fighters at 168 now that Caleb Plant has been exposed and put in his place.

At least against Bivol, Canelo won’t need to worry about hitting him because he doesn’t go for the KO like Benavidez and Morrell usually do.
“It’s probably his greatest responsibility. 160 is a good weight, but 175, they’re a little big for him,” Sanchez said. “I want him to give some of these lions a chance.
“I have to give Bivol a lot of credit for what he’s done in his previous fights. It’s a tough fight for Canelo. Bivol is a bigger guy, he’s a natural at this weight, and I think he’s going to be a stretch. for Canelo to beat him.
“Now that I see Bivol fighting Zurdo, I think he will get used to different styles and do what he has to do to win. He entered his head, and the son respected him.
“All the big champions like that want to go up and want to command the division, but he fought one of the best in this weight class.
“It would have been difficult for Bivol to go down to 168, but at 175, that’s his weight. Canelo is too small,” said Sanchez.
