By Adam Baskin: Andre Ward has given Gervonta ‘Tank’ Davis a shot against the young, inexperienced Ryan Garcia if/when the two meet for their mega fight.
Ward was a little disappointed about the delay in negotiations for the Davis vs. Ryan, and wants to wrap up the conversation like boxing fans do.
In a sign that we may not be seeing Tank-Ryan anytime soon, Showtime Executive Stephen Espinoza revealed on Thursday that Mayweather Promotions & PBC wants Ryan to jump from DAZN to his network for the Tank Davis fight.
Since the chances of that happening are zero, the hope is that Mayweather Promotions & PBC are willing to make it two promotions so the fight can happen.
DAZN wants to show the fight again, which is understandable because it will bring good numbers. Obviously, with the Davis vs. Garcia is shared between two networks, he won’t bring as many numbers as he could if he was a single network event.
