GLENDALE, Arizona – Antonio Nieves couldn’t handle the pressure of Alexandro Santiago this time.

Santiago chased Nieves for most of Saturday night’s bantamweight bout, until Nieves refused to answer the bell in the eighth round on the Jake Paul-Anderson Silva credit card at Desert Diamond Arena. Santiago’s stoppage against them came six years after they drew in 10 rounds.

Santiago moved Nieves into the ropes and landed punches to the head and body halfway through the fifth round.

Santiago connects with a left uppercut and then a jab as Nieves backs away towards the end of the fourth round which is not worked.

Less than a minute into the third round, Santiago backed Nieves into the ropes and landed a combination to the body before connecting with a right hand to the head.

After a first round in which neither fighter got a clean break, Santiago defeated Nieves with a right hand that landed midway through the second round.
