Here’s what Gutierrez had to say about this recent training camp, his matchup with Louie Lopez, and more.

On his recent training camp:

“Lopez is in a lot of trouble. I can’t explain the mistake I made to him. Whatever he has a problem with, I will continue to work hard, and that’s why I spent this whole camp finishing and planning the best game. good to get him out. This could be one of his last fights in his life so I’m going to push him all night on fight night.”

About his match with Louie Lopez:

“I give Lopez a lot of credit for being a tough fighter, and a real fighter in the ring, but I don’t see anything special in him, and after that I don’t call it a disappointment when I win. I don’t win. and I should be the favorite. I’ve never lost. Louie Lopez is the challenger, and I’m the fighter that’s coming in here putting my perfect record on the line. I think it’s going to be an interesting fight all the way through. It’s been a long time, and I see myself as a winner.”

On what success will do for his career:

“It’s easy, I’m going to take Louie Lopez’s place. I’m the next guy up. I’m going to beat him on Friday, and then I’m going to get on with my career, and I’m going to be happy to do that in Thompson’s boxing matches as well. People are looking at him as a hopeful, I just see him as an opponent. What this will do is simple – it will confirm my work as a great reality.”

On fighting at the main event on the Thompson Card:

“This is my first fight on a main event card for Thompson, and I can’t wait. I’m ready to steal the show and make the audience see a new star in the welterweight division. This is my time. to win over the fans.”
