Winners of Korean Music Awards 2022 | Biden News

The 19th Annual Korean Music Awards has announced this year’s winners!

Unlike many other South Korean music awards, which typically use sales figures as a major criterion in determining each year’s winners, the Korean Music Awards focuses on musical achievement as its primary criterion. The Korean Music Awards also give more importance to the albums and songs themselves

aespa won the most awards of any artist this year, taking home a total of three awards—including two of the Big Four (the four major awards across all music genres). Espa went home with Song of the Year, Rookie of the Year and Best K-Pop Song (for their smash hit “Next Level”).

BTS won Artist of the Year, their third time winning the award overall. (In 2018, BTS made history by becoming the first idol group to win Artist of the Year at the Korean Music Awards, and they repeated the feat in 2019.)

Finally, indie folk singer Lang Lee claimed album of the year with his critically acclaimed album “There’s a Wolf.”
