The Scottish Alternative Music Awards (SAMA) will take place on Thursday 8 December at St Luke’s, Glasgow. Tickets for the show are on sale now.

Theatrical electro-rock outfit VLURE, all-female rap trio The Honey Farm and soul songstress Becky Cicasa will play throughout the evening alongside the awards ceremony. With hosting duties by Jim Gellatly and Leila Josephine, the award categories will be Best Live Act, Best Hip Hop, Best Newcomer, Best Acoustic, Best Metal, Best Electronic and Best Rock/Alternative.

SAMA Founder Richie Muirhead said, ‘SAMA 2022 aims to shine a light on the genres and artists who have been working hard over the past 12 months! The list of showcase artists and nominations reflects the creativity and quality of music coming from Scotland in 2022. We are thrilled to host the 13th edition of the event in Glasgow!’

Since its inception more than a decade ago, the SAMAs have proven themselves to be a worthy breeding ground for future stars, with previous winners including Fatherson, Hector Bizerk, The Snots, Gerry Cinnamon and Lewis Capaldi.
