Berks County native Sam Schmidthuber took home an award for Songwriter Achievement of the Year for his song “Rebound to Ringbound” that meant so much to him at the 8th Annual Josie Music Awards held at the Grand Ole Opry in Nashville, Tenn. 23 October.
The all-genre Independent Music Awards Show’s Songwriter Achievement category received more than 2,000 submissions for which Schmidthuber’s song was selected as the winner for 2022.
“I’ve always been confident in myself as an artist, vocalist and musician, but tough on myself as a songwriter. To take home an award for a song I wrote 100% myself is more than I could ask for,” the Morgantown native said in a release.
He currently resides in Chester County.
“Being at the Grand Ole Opry made the weekend even more special,” he added.
Previously, Schmidthuber won Modern Vocalist in 2021 and Young Adult Vocalist in 2019 at the annual Josie Music Awards.
