The 2022 MTV EMA Awards will be hosted by global superstar Rita Ora and GRAMMY Award-winning writer, actor and director Taika Waititi.
“We are excited to host this year’s MTV EMAs and celebrate the best musicians and performances from around the world,” the duo shared in a press release. “We look forward to sharing the evening with all these talented artists.”
“I’m thrilled to be back hosting, and sharing the stage with Taika makes it even more special. We had it all at this year’s EMAs, fun surprises, gorgeous fashion, comedy and most of all amazing music! We can’t wait for the audience to share these moments with us,” added Ora.
Their enthusiasm is shared by Paramount+ Music CEO Bruce Gilmer, who says, “Along with longtime MTV/EMA favorite Rita Ora and the multi-talented Taika Waititi, we’re sure this powerhouse duo will set the stage for an electrifying night of global music celebration.”
Taking place in Düsseldorf, the evening will host performances and special awards as well as numerous musical artists and talents from all over Europe. Two new categories have been added to this year’s ceremony, including “Best Metaverse Performance” and “Best Longform Video.”
