ST. JOHN’S, NL — MusicNL honored some of the province’s most talented musicians with its annual awards on Saturday, October 29.

Nick Earle and The Reckless Hearts took home two awards for album of the year and rock artist of the year, while Rachel Cousins ​​won pop artist of the year and solo artist of the year.

Also receiving nods in two award categories were Diantha Edmonds, Classical Artist of the Year and Indigenous Artist of the Year, and Rosemary Lawton, Celtic/Traditional Artist of the Year and Music Video of the Year.

Florian Hofner was also awarded Global Music Artist of the Year and Instrumental Artist of the Year.

Justin Fancy won Entertainer of the Year, Kubasniks won Folk/Roots Artist of the Year and Coat the Raven won Group of the Year.

Loud Artist of the Year went to Slowpoke, Jing Jia was recognized as Rising Star of the Year, and King Soe was named Rap/Hip-Hop Artist of the Year.

Dan George was awarded Home Side Musician of the Year, and Songwriter of the Year to Kelly McMichael.
