Kohima | June 18
The second edition of the prestigious MG Music Awards 2022, organized by the Musicians Guild (MG), was held on June 18 at the Regional Center of Excellence for Music and Performing Arts (RCEMPA), Jotsoma, near Kohima.
There are 12 categories in this award. It is envisioned as a competition platform for musicians at the Northeast level, where around 250 entries have been received from the Northeast states.
Judges include; Shalmali – Indian pop sensation, lyricist and composer, Karan – an award-winning Indian artist, composer, producer and engineer based in Los Angeles, California and Jameer, a Mumbai-based musician.
The awards ceremony witnessed performances by Noorhe, ZT Slingshot, Imliakum Air and The Electric Cool Kid, Asu J FT, Imsongdi Imsong, Big Dan, Bojio Ninu, Hime, Akhrije, Mejanuo, Achumla and Albert.
Rupfuzano Huiso assisted as the organizer of the award ceremony. MG president Melakhoto Pucho thanked everyone for the success of the event.

Best Rap/Hip Hop Artist – Big Dan
Best Indie Artist – Temsu Clover
Best Pop Solo Artist – KL Palme
Best Pop Duo/Group Artist – The Gluttons
Best Electronic Artists- Valentina, GFRY, Jintu
Song of the Year – Clangon for “Knight in Shining Armor”.
Best Gospel Artist – Achumla Jingru Sangtam
Most Promising Artists – (1) Joshua Shohe (2) and Dapun
Best Music Video – Lily Swan Feat B4NSHAN & Lucy Suri
Best Folk Fusion Artist – Achumla Jingru and Albert Jingru for Oh Mungmung!
Best sound engineer – Ode, Tk Lemtur
