The “One Mississippi” singer led all nominees with four nominations for the April 11 event at Music City’s Municipal Auditorium.

Nominations are out for the 2022 CMT Music Awards, which will air live from Nashville on April 11. And it could be a big night for Ken Brown, who has four nominations, or for Kelsey Ballerini, Mickey Guyton and first-time CMT Award nominees Breland and Cody Johnson, who each have three nods.

Hosted by chart-topping artist Ballerini and actor Anthony Mackie, the evening will culminate with the coveted Video of the Year award featuring 12 contestants including Brown’s No. 1 hit “One Mississippi.”

Reigning Video of the Year winner Carrie Underwood (“Hallelujah” featuring John Legend) returns with another duet, the Billboard Country Airplay No. 1 with Jason Aldean, “If I Didn’t Love You.” A win for Underwood in the category would be her 10th overall Video of the Year win.

Also nominated for that award are No. 1 country radio hits from co-hosts Ballerini and Kenny Chesney, Luke Combs and Cody Johnson, and powerful singles from Brandi Carlyle, Miranda Lambert, Maren Morris, Taylor Swift. Chris Stapleton and Cole Swindell and Lenny Wilson.

A new awards category has been added to the lineup: “CMT Digital-First Performance of the Year,” which recognizes an artist’s performance on CMT’s digital channels. Britney Spencer, Carly Pearce, Cody Johnson, John Purdy, Josh Turner and Lenny Wilson will compete for the inaugural award.

First-time CMT Music Awards nominees include BRELAND, Cody Johnson, Brittney Spencer, Tenille Arts, Priscilla Block, MacKenzie Porter, Elvie Shane, Caitlyn Smith, HER and Paul Klein of LANY. Nellie and Gladys Knight are also nominated, continuing CMT’s desire to promote country music across genre lines.

The event will take place at 8 pm ET on April 11 and will air on CBS, also available to stream live and on-demand on Paramount+. Normally held at Bridgestone Arena in downtown Nashville, scheduling conflicts surrounding the 2022 event forced the move to the 60-year-old Municipal Auditorium.

As previously announced, the 2022 CMT Music Awards were scheduled for April 3. However, the organizers pushed back the date by a week after the Grammy Awards were announced to be moved to the same date Municipal Auditorium hosted the inaugural Country Music Association Awards in 1967 but has not hosted a CMA, CMT, or ACM awards show in the 55 years since.

Voting for the 2022 CMT Awards is available at vote.cmt.com.
