Given’s ‘For Tonight’ is certified platinum by the RIAA

Giveon continues to collect awards from the Recording Industry Association of America (RIAA).

The Grammy-nominated singer’s single “For Tonight” is now certified platinum. It has sold more than one million equivalent units.

The piano-laden track was produced by Akil, Jahan Sweet and Seven Thomas. It was released on September 24, 2021, as the lead single from Given’s debut album, Give or take.

“For Tonight” first received an RIAA Award in February. It was certified gold after crossing 500,000 equivalent sales units.

Giveon has been racking up RIAA awards this year. Her breakout single “Heartbreak Anniversary” was certified 3x multi-platinum in January and was later upgraded to 4x multi-platinum in June.

In February, “The Beach” was declared gold, while “Like I Want You” reached 2x multi-platinum.

Two songs, plus “Heartbreak Anniversary,” were taken from Jevon’s debut EP, take time Which was published on March 27, 2020 The EP also includes the gold-selling “Dear Mistake”.

In April, “All to Me” was certified gold. It served as a bonus track on Given When it’s all said and done… take timeA compilation of his two EPs take time And When it’s all said and done.

“My first two EPs were the story of a chapter in my love life,” Givon explained in an Instagram caption. “Bright spots and nuisances. I really used music as a vehicle to show all my vulnerabilities and truths.”

Over the summer, Givon collected four additional RIAA Awards, including the previously mentioned “Heartbreak Anniversary”, “Stack on You” (Platinum), When it’s all said and done… take time (Platinum) and “Peach” (4x Multi-Platinum).

The next track is Justin Bieber’s Billboard Hot 100 chart-topper, which also features Daniel Caesar.

“Peaches” earned the trio multiple nominations at the 64th Grammy Awards, including Record of the Year, Song of the Year, Best R&B Performance and Best Music Video.

Not So Fast/Epic Records

circle back give or take, Givēon released the album on June 24 via Not So Fast/Epic Records. No features on the 15-track project.

“Having to suddenly adapt to a world where so many eyes are simultaneously seeing and feeling a wide spectrum of emotions naturally brought these songs to the surface.”

Last month, Givon wrapped up his title Give or take tourwhich was launched in mid-August.

Giveon is nominated for Best R&B/Soul Male Artist at the 2022 Soul Train Awards. Hosted by actor/comedian Dion Cole, the show will air Sunday, November 27 at 8pm on BET and BET Her.

He is also nominated for Favorite R&B Male Artist at the 2022 American Music Awards. The fan-voted awards show will air live on Sunday, November 20, at 8pm ET/PT on ABC.
