Country folk singer Little Miss Higgins is coming to Burnaby

It’s time to sit back and let country folk wash over you with the guitar and lilting vocals of Little Miss Higgins.

Jolene Higgins will perform songs from her album My Home, My Heart at the Shadbolt Center for the Arts on Friday, November 4.

Alberta-born musician Higgins, now based in Manitoba, has been immersed in music throughout his life, winning three Western Canadian Music Awards along the way and receiving nominations for Juno and Maple Blues Awards.

“When I was about four my father brought home an old mini-grand piano and told me it was mine. I carved my name on the side of it and then I had to start piano lessons,” Higgins said in a press release.

Inspired by many artists such as Memphis Minnie, Billie Holiday and Joni Mitchell (and Canadian bigs Dave McLean, Korb Lund and Deep Dark Woods), the show
