In case you haven’t heard, the CMA Awards 2022 will be broadcast live tonight from Nashville’s Bridgestone Arena.
This year’s show will be co-hosted by Luke Bryan and Peyton Manning because, you know, it can’t all be country music hosts (no offense to Peyton, but still trying to figure out why he’s hosting a country music awards show).
Although we have to wait until tonight, some artists have already sealed the deal with a few nominations.
for one, Carly Pierce And Ashley McBride announced that they won the CMA Musical Event of the Year for their 2021 smash hit, “Never Wanted to Be That Girl.”
Pierce expressed his excitement on Twitter, saying:
“WOWWWW what a way to start the #cmaawards day!!! This song means everything to me and it’s so rewarding to see the life it’s lived this year. Thank you CMA’s for this. Musical event of the year!!!”
And the list of early winners includes Texas country powerhouses Cody Johnson, Who won Music Video of the Year in 2021 for “‘Til You Can’t.” Human Double album
This marks Johnson’s first major country music award, and he’s also up for Male Vocalist of the Year.
Needless to say, it’s great to see ol’ Kozo reaping the rewards of his hard work
