2022 Billboard Latin Music Awards Nominations: Complete List – Billboard

Puerto Rican hitmaker Bad Bunny leads the final list of the 2022 Billboard Latin Music Awards with 23 nods in 13 categories. (Ozuna is the only other artist to score in 2019.)

Bad Bunny is up for chart-topping Album of the Year, Artist of the Year, Latin Vocal Artist of the Year, Male and Latin Album of the Year. Un verano sin t, which returned to No. 1 for an eighth consecutive frame at the top of the Billboard 200 chart this week.

Bad Bunny is followed by Colombian star Carol G with 15 entries in 11 categories, a record number of nods for a female artist. (The old record was jointly held by Jenni Rivera, who had 12 nods in 2014, and Shakira, who had 12 in 2018.) Carl G’s categories include Artist of the Year and Latin Artist of the Year, Female, as well as Latin Song of the Year, Vocal event, for her Becky G collab “MAMIII”.

Farooq received 11 entries, competing for Artist of the Year, Latin Song of the Year with “Peppus” and Latin Album of the Year. La 167.

The 29th annual Billboard Latin Music Awards — set to take place Sept. 29 at the Watsco Center in Coral Gables, Fla. — will air live on Telemundo and simulcast on Spanish entertainment cable network Universo and throughout Latin America and the Caribbean on Telemundo International.

This year, awards will be given in 58 categories of Latin pop, tropical, Latin rhythm and regional Mexican music genres. The event is the only awards show determined by Latin music’s most popular albums, songs and performers. BillboardIts weekly chart.

Other top finalists include Rau Alejandro, who has 10 nods; Bachata supergroup Aventura with seven entries; Eslabon Armado leads the regional Mexican spot with six nods; and Grupo Firme and Caliber 50 with five each.

The awards — produced by MBS Special Events and executive produced by Mary Black Suarez — coincide with Billboard Latin Music Week, which returns to Miami Sept. 26-30 at the Fena Forum, featuring a star-studded list of speakers including Romeo Santos, Maluma, Grupo Firme, Chayanne, Ivy Queen and Nicky Jam among others.
