PC and Xbox players can’t turn off Modern Warfare 2 crossplay, but PS5 players can | Biden News

Crossplay: Some people like it, some people don’t. It’s always nice to have more people to play with, but console gamers will sometimes turn it off to avoid being hurt by the speed and accuracy of a mouse and keyboard (or, you know, cheats). (opens in a new tab)); likewise, PC players sometimes prefer to avoid the accuracy-boosting aim aid (opens in a new tab) offered by console shooters. But for Xbox and PC players in Call of Duty: Modern Warfare 2, that’s literally not an option.

According to several complaints on Reddit (opens in a new tab), there is simply no option to turn off Modern Warfare 2 cross-play on Xbox or PC. I can’t speak for the Xbox, but I checked the game on PC and it’s true: there is no toggle to turn it on or off. What makes the situation really weird, however, is that several editors are saying that the PlayStation 5 version of the game does have crossplay. Eurogamer (opens in a new tab) checked that the PS5 menu option is present.
