The collision happened this morning (Friday 28 October) on the A358 at the junction with the A378 near Thornfalcon at 10.10am.

A spokesman for Avon and Somerset Police said: “The Range Rover collided with a Ford Ranger towing a trailer and the traffic lights were damaged.”

“The driver of the Ford was unblocked from the car by fire and rescue service personnel and hospitalized.”

A spokesman for South West Ambulance Service NHS Foundation Trust (SWASFT) said: “We were called at 10.15am to a road accident east of Taunton. We dispatched an operations officer and three dual-crew ground ambulances and took the three patients to Musgrove Park Hospital.’

Earlier today, drivers were urged to avoid the area until vehicles are restored and the traffic light at the intersection is repaired.

According to Travel Somerset on Twitter, the road has already been cleared.
