Nismo has created the perfect Frontier for off-road use
Concept Nissan NISMO Off Road Frontier V8
With the 2022 SEMA show about to open to the public, we’re learning a lot more about the cars that will be on display in Las Vegas. Nissan has prepared a very long list of cars that will be on display at the show, starting with the Nissan Z, built for true enthusiasts, and ending with the special Frontier concept, which takes the mid-size truck to a new level of performance. This cool-looking Nismo Off Road Frontier V-8 concept is equipped with a series of Nismo off-road accessories that transform it into a Baja-style desert-running beast.
Titan Power in a mid-size truck

The new Nismo Off Road Frontier V8 concept borrows the powertrain from the 2023 Titan full-size pickup truck. That means it’s powered by the 5.6-liter Endurance® V-8 gasoline engine, but for the concept it’s been upgraded with a custom Nismo Off Road cold air intake and cat-back exhaust system. There’s no word on how much power the concept delivers, but the V-8 makes up to 400 horsepower and 413 lb-ft of torque in the Titan.
New suspension for the win

An off-road truck needs something more purposeful than a basic road suspension. As such, this Nismo Off Road Frontier V8 concept features wide-track suspension with lower control arms, front spindles, wheel hubs and a rear axle from Titan. Nismo also installed custom upper control arms and Bilstein coilover shocks, which will improve cargo handling. The concept rides on custom 18×9-inch Off Road Axis wheels wrapped in 295/70/18 mud tires.
Carbon fiber is also part of it

Nismo not only offers updates under the hood, but also changes the exterior of the Frontier to make it more suitable for off-roading. The updates start with a wide body kit that includes carbon fiber front fenders, hood, bed sides and a new off-road front bumper. All these changes help to improve the truck’s approach angle and tire clearance. To tie it all together, Nismo installed special off-road rails, a roof rack and an off-road bracket for the spare wheel and tire. LED lighting placed on the roof provides better visibility during night driving.
Nismo has announced that a new range of accessories will soon be available from Nissan dealers. The company is also preparing several other parts that are currently prototypes and will be available in the future.
